Just recently, patentlyapple.com published a patent that was granted to Apple in Europe. It describes Apple Watch straps with new functions.
It is an open secret that Apple continues to research its technologies. Patent applications are published again and again, showing what we could expect in the iWorld. Now a new patent shows that the iGroup is thinking about giving Apple Watch straps new functions. Using flexible circuit boards, sensors could be placed directly in the straps. These could then measure heart rate, temperature, pressure, UV and light intensity and humidity. It would also be possible to install LED displays. According to the description, the LEDs could inform the user of the status of messages, calls or similar. Is the message important? With the help of color changes, the LEDs could even signal the importance of the message to the user, for example. Such straps would be an asset to the Apple Watch. Nevertheless, patents should always be treated with caution. It is not uncommon for many such ideas to never make it into finished products.
