Apple Maps speed camera warnings were introduced in iOS 14. However, the feature was previously limited to the USA, Great Britain and Ireland. Now other countries are following suit.
Apple's CarPlay received mostly cosmetic updates in iOS 14. But one new driving-related feature was the addition of speed camera warnings. Apple describes the feature as follows:
A helpful advance warning to slow down. Maps shows you when you're approaching speed cameras and red lights on your route, so you can prepare for potentially slow-moving traffic. You can also see where each camera is on the map.

The Dutch website iCulture reports that the feature has appeared in the Netherlands and Belgium, among others.
The speed cameras in Apple Maps were previously only visible in a limited number of countries, but iCulture reader Chris discovered that they are now visible in the Netherlands. The iCulture editorial team has checked and can confirm that Apple Maps now also shows speed cameras in the Netherlands. There are also reports that the speed cameras are visible in Belgium. While navigating with Apple Maps, you will see a yellow icon with a camera at the location of a speed camera. We have at least seen the location of the cameras in the Haarlem region. The feature may be rolled out further, so you won't see it everywhere. You will only see the speed cameras during route guidance.

Apple Maps speed camera warnings: What about Germany?
The function, which was previously only available in selected countries, is now being introduced in the Netherlands and Belgium. However, there are reports online that Australia, Austria, Sweden and New Zealand are also being considered. Anyone wondering whether the feature will appear here at some point will not like the answer. Based on a change to the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO) last year, speed camera applications are expressly prohibited in Germany. This also includes any devices that support functions such as Apple's speed camera warnings in Apple Maps. It is therefore not to be expected that we will get the feature here at any point.
