Apple has once again updated the vintage list and, as expected, added the iPhone 5C.
The iPhone 5C, launched alongside the iPhone 5S in September 2013, was essentially a repackaged iPhone 5 in a colorful plastic shell, available in blue, green, pink, yellow, and white. A low-end device aimed at budget-conscious customers, it featured a small 4-inch screen and the A6 chip, as well as an 8-megapixel camera.
iPhone 5C: Discontinuation expected in 2022
Now it has been added to the vintage list set. Apple's "vintage" list includes devices that have not been sold for more than five but less than seven years, while the discontinued list includes devices that were discontinued more than seven years ago. Devices on the vintage list can still receive hardware service from Apple and certified service partners, subject to the availability of repair components and as required by law. However, hardware service is no longer available for discontinued products. The 4-inch iPhone will remain on the list until 2022, before being permanently discontinued by Apple.
