Apple has updated the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro in a simple press release.
It comes as a big surprise - after Apple gave the MacBook Air a comprehensive update in October 2018, the company today announced another update in a press release. The entry-level model in the Pro line has also been significantly revised.
MacBook Air 2019
The new MacBook Air 2019 is equipped with True Tone technology and features the new eighth-generation dual-core Intel Core i5 processor. There are two simple configurations to choose from - both can of course be optimized. The new MacBook Air 2019 can be equipped with up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of flash storage. The starting price is 1,249.00 euros and can rise to up to 2,239.00 euros with the maximum configuration.
MacBook Pro 13″ 2019
Unlike the Air, Apple has significantly redesigned the entry-level 13-inch MacBook Pro. The device will now have a Touch Bar with Touch ID. A True Tone display is also included. The MacBook Pro 13-inch was also given the well-known T2 security chip as part of the update and an 8th generation quad-core Intel processor was installed. The price for the basic model is 1,499.00 euros and, like the MacBook Air, is primarily aimed at students - according to Apple.
Both devices are now available from Apple – students also receive a discount as part of the “Back to school” program. The MacBook Pro 13″ without Touch Bar has officially been discontinued – the normal MacBook 12″ has also been discontinued. AirPods 2 with wireless charging case on offer on Amazon (Image: Apple)
