One week before the Apple event "It's show time", Cupertino is launching two new iPad devices. The iPad Air comes in a slimmer design with a 10.5" screen diagonal and has an Apple A12 Bionic chip. In addition to the performance increase, the iPad Air has a Retina display with True Tone support. The resolution is 2224 × 1668 pixels. The new tablet is considered the direct successor to the discontinued 10.5" iPad Pro.
Apple Pencil Support
The new iPad mini retains the 7.9" display of its predecessor. It is also powered by an Apple A12 Bionic chip. The Retina display also supports True Tone and has a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. The first generation Apple Pencil can be used on both devices. According to Apple, the cameras on both iPad models have been redesigned and can now deliver high-quality images even in poor lighting conditions.
Prices and designs
Both the iPad Air and the iPad mini are available in several versions. The devices are available in gold, silver and space gray. Both models are available in 64 GB and 256 GB versions. In addition to the WiFi version, the new entry-level iPads are also available with cellular connectivity. The iPad Air starts at 549 euros and can cost up to 719 euros. The starting price of the iPad mini is 449 euros - with the maximum configuration, the small tablet costs a whopping 759 euros.
