After many rumors about new products, Apple announced two new iPad models presented via press release. Today, the iGroup surprisingly launched five new iMac models.
It's been nearly two years since Apple last updated the iMac - now both the 4K and 5K models are getting an update. Cupertino announced today that the iMac family has been updated with Intel's latest 8th and 9th generation Core processors.
The 21.5" iMac can be configured with a maximum of an 8th generation Core i7 with six cores and the 27" model with a 9th generation Core i9 with Turbo Boost up to 5.0 GHz. The new 21.5" iMac models deliver up to 60 percent more performance than their predecessors, while the new 27" iMac devices achieve up to 2.4 times more performance than the previous generation. All models in the iMac family can also be equipped with a Radeon Pro Vega graphics card. The casing and resolution of the iMacs remain unchanged.
Prices and availability
The starting price for the 21.5" model is 1,499 euros - depending on the configuration, the small iMac can cost up to 3,919 euros. The 27" model can be purchased from 2,099 euros. With the maximum configuration, the large iMac costs up to 6,139 euros. Both devices can be ordered online starting today.
