Apple released its figures for the fourth quarter this evening and was able to provide convincing results.
Cupertino exceeded expectations with an EPS (earnings per share) of $3.03. Analysts were predicting an average of $2.80 per share. Apple generated $64.04 billion and posted a profit of $13.7 billion. In the fourth quarter of the previous year, sales were $62.9 billion and profits were $14.1 billion. The iPhone business is said to have brought in $33.3 billion in the past quarter, compared to $37.1 billion in the previous year. As announced at the end of 2018, Apple did not provide exact sales figures.
Apple also announced a dividend payment of $0.77 per share - this will be paid to registered shareholders on November 14th. The Cupertino-based company has forecast sales of around $85.5 - $89.5 billion for the current quarter. The share price rose by around three percent after the market closed.
