Apple today announced an expansion of the content offerings of its video workout service Apple Fitness+. Starting Monday, Fitness+ will add kickboxing as a new workout type.
The kickboxing workouts are led by Fitness+ trainers Jamie-Ray Hartshorne and new team member Nez Dally. Apple quit a new season of Time to Walk guests and a new category of meditation sessions - Sleep. Kickboxing sessions are offered in ten, twenty and thirty minute durations. Each workout consists of several rounds, followed by a final round that combines all the moves from the workout to improve whole-body fitness. The Sleep theme is the latest addition to the Fitness+ collection of meditation sessions. New sleep meditations are added weekly.

A new season of Time to Walk kicks off with guests including actress Jamie Lee Curtis, talk show host Amber Ruffin, actor Jason Segal, chef Jose Andres and actress Sheryl Lee Ralph (recently nominated for an Emmy for her work in the hit comedy series Abbott Elementary). The workout series Artists Spotlight includes a new playlist of songs from Beyonce's latest album Renaissance.
Apple Fitness+ offering grows
In addition to the aforementioned Nez Dally, the Fitness+ program will be expanded in January to include two more new trainers: Brian Cochrane and Jenn Lau. Cochrane will focus on high-intensity interval training and Lau will lead strength training sessions. Until recently, Fitness+ users had to wear an Apple Watch because the program integrated metrics and activity rings into the experience. But since iOS 16, the Fitness+ service has been available to anyone with an iPhone via the Fitness app. The subscription-based service is available via the Fitness app on the iPhone, iPad and Apple TV and costs €9.99 per month or €79.99 per year in Germany - family sharing is included. In addition, the service is also included in Apple One. Note: Without an Apple Watch, iPhone users cannot see real-time data such as heart rate and calorie consumption during training. (Image: Apple)
