YouTube Music was introduced in Germany almost a year ago. Now, thanks to the latest update, the popular streaming service is also available for Apple CarPlay.
With version 3.11, YouTube Music gets a place in Apple CarPlay. The service is in direct competition with Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music - the subscription costs 12.99 euros per month. YouTube Music also offers family sharing - this costs 19.99 euros per month. Both subscription models are also available as a premium version. This enables playback in the background and when locked. Users who opt for the premium version have to pay 3 euros more each - YouTube Music gives every new customer a trial month.
The service generally offers the same functions as its competitors. Playing music in offline mode is also possible. In addition to music recommendations, the latest hits are also presented in the so-called "hotlist" and updated regularly.
YouTube was founded in 2005 and bought by Google in 2006. Users can watch, rate, comment on and upload video clips for free on the portal. In 2014, YouTube generated around four billion US dollars in revenue - most of which was generated by playing advertisements.
