Apple has acquired Credit Kudos, a British company that conducts credit checks for banks, for $150 million. Will the Apple Card finally appear in Europe?
Tim Cook confirmed in 2019 that the Apple Card will eventually be introduced in other markets. According to the financial magazine The Block, the British company Credit Kudos has now been acquired by Apple. Unnamed sources say the deal was completed for $150 million. Credit Kudos is a service for banks that is designed to help them better and faster assess the creditworthiness of people applying for a credit card. Apple Card was developed by Apple in collaboration with Goldman Sachs.
Apple Card could soon appear in Europe
The financial company later told investors that Apple Card was "the most successful credit card launch ever." Goldman Sachs also confirmed what Cook said about Apple Card's overseas launch.
We will start in the US but over time we will definitely think about international opportunities.
When the Apple Card will actually be introduced in this country remains to be seen, of course. But with the acquisition of Credit Kudos, the whole thing could now be getting closer. (Photo by Unsplash / Melvin Thambi)
