Apple today announced that customers in the U.S. can now connect with an Apple specialist via live video session when purchasing an iPhone from the company's online store.
This new service allows customers to learn about the latest iPhone models and features, upgrading to iOS, trade-in offers, carrier offers and financing options. Karen Rasmussen, head of Apple Online Retail, expressed as follows:
We're constantly innovating to give our customers a more personalized experience and meet them where they are to bring them the best of Apple. With Shop with a Specialist by video, our team members look forward to connecting with customers and providing exceptional service while they figure out which iPhone is best for them.
Will Apple also introduce “video shopping with a specialist” in Germany?
“Video Shopping with a Specialist” is available daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time on the Shop iPhone page of the Apple website.

According to Apple, during the one-way session the salesperson is in front of the camera and shows their screen, but cannot see the customer. Apple promises that the video session is "safe and secure". In the Apple Online Store, customers can still speak to a specialist by phone, online chat or in American Sign Language. Apple has not provided any further information on whether "video shopping with a specialist" will be introduced in this country at some point. (Image: Apple)
