The App Store has released much to talk about Users had to delete and re-download some of their apps in order to run them.
It started on Saturday with WhatsApp and Facebook and spread to applications such as YouTube, Tik Tik, Amazon and more. When attempting to open the app, it crashed and could no longer be run. The message "This app is no longer shared with you" then appeared. The problem was only resolved after the affected application was deleted and reinstalled. The phenomenon was primarily observed in users with family sharing activated - but not in everyone. Interestingly, some solo users were not spared either.
Expired certificate as cause?
Now users are reporting hundreds of pending app updatesHowever, the updates are not new but rather versions that have already been released. In many cases, the data listed goes back as far as ten days. Apple has not published a report on this. However, it is suspected that the phenomenon is related to the problem "This app is no longer shared with you". It cannot be ruled out that the cause is an expired certificate or other authorization that allows the applications to be shared. In order to update these, corresponding app updates are necessary. This could therefore explain the unusually high number of updates. (Photo by PixieMe / Bigstockphoto)
