Do you remember Vine? A platform for sharing six-second loop videos? The app is back - it's called "byte" and is now available on iOS and Android.
The long-awaited successor to Vine – "byte" – is finally here and can now be downloaded from the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. Just like back then, users can upload six-second looping clips and assign them to a category. The profile itself has a minimalist design and is therefore very clear. Users can navigate between 19 categories, including Comedy, Animation, Chill, Pets, and more. The development team explained the app on Twitter as follows:
You know the drill: Upload from your camera roll or use the Byte Camera to capture things. There are plenty of ways to find new personalities and moments. Explore what the community is watching and loving, see hand-picked posts from our editors, or browse for yourself.
Very soon we will be launching a pilot version of our partner program through which we will pay creators. byte celebrates creativity and community and compensating creators is an important way to support both. Stay tuned for more information.
Your feedback has helped us get here today. We have a lot more in store and as we continue to build, we want to hear more from you.
„byte“ was announced around three months ago as the official successor to Vine. It is available free of charge and very easy to set up. Apple users can shorten the registration process and select “Sign in with Apple” – more on that below. (Image: byte)
