Apple has now officially announced the 15 winners of the annual App Store Awards, including representatives from video editing, weather reporting, games and more.
After the Apple Music Awards, Apple has now announced the list of App Store winners for 2021.
Apple today announced the winners of the 2021 App Store Awards, recognizing the 15 best apps and games that helped users discover personal passions, be creative, connect with new people, explore new experiences, and just have fun. This year's winners include developers from around the world whose apps and games were selected by Apple's global App Store editorial team for exceptional quality, innovative technology, creative design, and positive cultural impact.
Apple CEO Tim Cook made the following statement:
The developers who won the 2021 App Store Awards used their own drive and vision to create the best apps and games of the year, igniting the creativity and passion of millions of users around the world. From self-taught indie programmers to inspiring leaders building global companies, these outstanding developers have innovated with Apple technology, and many of them have helped foster the deep sense of togetherness we needed this year.
Winners of the App Store Awards 2021
- iPhone App of the Year: Toca Life World, by Toca Boca
- iPad App of the Year: LumaFusion, by LumaTouch
- Mac App of the Year: Craft, by Luki Labs Limited
- Apple TV App of the Year: DAZN, from the DAZN Group
- Apple Watch App of the Year: Carrot Weather, by Grailr
Apple has also awarded a number of games for all devices - except the Apple Watch - and Apple Arcade. The list is as follows:
- iPhone Game of the Year: “League of Legends: Wild Rift,” by Riot Games
- iPad Game of the Year: “MARVEL Future Revolution”, by Netmarble Corporation
- Mac Game of the Year: “Myst”, by Cyan
- Apple TV Game of the Year: “Space Marshals 3”, by Pixelbite
- Apple Arcade Game of the Year: “Fantasian,” by Mistwalker

Regardless, Apple has sought to "identify a movement that has had a lasting impact on people's lives" and then recognize the "outstanding apps and games that matched that moment." For 2021, Apple says the top trend is "Connection." The five apps found on all Apple devices will be recognized in this special category:

- “Bumble” by Bumble Inc.
- Canva, by Canva
- EatOkra, by Anthony Edwards Jr. and Janique Edwards
- Peanut, by Peanut App Limited
Regarding the award, Apple states:
To honor the impact of winning development teams, Apple designers last year began a tradition of celebrating through meticulous craftsmanship with physical App Store Awards for each winner. Inspired by the signature blue App Store icon, each award features the App Store logo engraved into the 100 percent recycled aluminum used to make Apple products and the winner's name engraved on the other side.
