As expected, Apple has released the fifth preview of iOS 15, iPadOS 15 and Co. providedAs we progress further into the beta testing process, the changes that will be introduced will become smaller. Below we list all known changes.
Weather App Icon
The design of the weather app icon has been slightly optimized. The blue sky is now displayed a little darker.
Safari Reload Icon
In Safari, the reload icon has been removed from the URL bar when the address bar is collapsed while viewing a website in full view. The reload icon will still be shown in standard view. In the previous beta, the icon was shown in both views.
iOS 15 Safari
Apple has added support for WebM audio codec in Safari in the fifth build of iOS 15.
iPadOS 15 Safari
On iPadOS 15, today's beta changes the shading of the tab interface in Safari to make it clearer which tab is the active tab.
iPadOS 15 Homescreen Settings
In the Home Screen & Dock settings on the iPad, there is now an option to use large icons. When this feature is enabled, the icons take up more space on the screen, so there is less empty space and it is easier to tap the desired app icon.
camera icon in the control center
Apple refined the icon for the Camera app in an earlier beta. Now the camera icon in Control Center uses the newly updated icon instead of the old icon.
noise detection in the control center
Apple has also changed the icon for sound detection in the Control Center. Previously, it was a sound wave in a square. Now it is a sound wave with a small magnifying glass search icon.
Turn off iPhone
When you turn off iPhone, there's now a tappable alert that iPhone will remain discoverable even after it's turned off. Tapping it will reveal the option to "Turn off Findability temporarily."
background noise
There is a new option to disable background sounds when the iPhone is locked, which can be found under Settings -> Accessibility -> Audio & Visual -> Background Sounds.
TestFlight Info in the App Store
If you search for an app in the App Store and have a developer's version of TestFlight installed, the App Store entry will show the installed version of TestFlight and provide a link to open the TestFlight app. Both iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 and Co. are currently available in beta for developers and regular users who are registered in the Apple Beta Software Program. According to Apple, the final versions of these updates will be released in the fall as usual. (Photo by Eremin / Bigstockphoto)
