Yesterday evening, Apple released the second beta of iOS 15 and Co. for registered developers. Some new features were added, below is an overview.
Apple has now released the second preview of iOS 15, iPadOS 15, tvOS 15, watchOS 8 and macOS 12 Monterey rolled out. The updates were originally expected earlier this week. However, as expected, Apple added some features in the second iOS 15 preview. Here we go!
iPadOS 15 Beta 2 not available on the iPad Pro 9.7-inch device
According to the iPadOS 15 Beta 2 release Hints, available on the Apple Developer website, the second beta cannot be installed on the WiFi + Cellular version of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. The reason for this is unknown. Most likely, Apple found a serious problem and decided to skip this version for the affected iPad models.
iCloud Private Relay bug fixes
iCloud Private Relay makes browsing the internet even safer for iCloud subscribers. But this feature caused some problems in the first beta. According to Apple, "an issue that caused iCloud Private Relay to unexpectedly stop working has been fixed."
New Maps icon
Apple unveiled a new icon for its Maps application at WWDC 2021, but it was not included in the first beta of iOS 15. Now it has been added in the second preview.

Memoji Outfit
Apple mentioned earlier this month that Memojis will be getting new looks, including the option to set a custom outfit. These options have now been integrated with the second iOS 15 beta.

weather app
When you first open the Weather app in the current preview, you'll now see a welcome screen that highlights the new features and refreshed design.
Quick Note on the iPad
Quick Note was already available in the first iPadOS 15 beta. But with the second beta, users can now swipe from the bottom right corner to trigger Quick Note.
SharePlay
SharePlay is a new feature that allows users to share a song, video, or even the screen of their devices during a FaceTime call, and the feature has now been officially enabled.
Notify when abandoned
You can now enable notifications when you leave one of your devices behind, such as an iPad or Mac. This option is found in the Find My app and, according to Apple, does not work with Intel-based Macs – to the tip.
Apple removes Lossless on the HomePod
Apple removed the option to enable Lossless Audio on HomePod with iOS 15 beta 2. Previously, there was an option to stream Lossless songs on HomePod within the Home app. Most likely, this option was temporarily removed due to an issue and will return in a future release.
safari
Apple has reactivated the refresh button for the Safari address bar. However, it is only displayed when a mouse or trackpad is used.
Shortcuts improvements
The Shortcuts app can now recognize what is on the screen to receive input from an app without the Share Sheet. If there are any other changes, we will report on them as usual. (Photo by nikkimeel / Bigstockphoto)
