Apple released the second beta of iOS 16.2 and iPadOS 16.2 for developers on Tuesday evening. A few new features were added. Below is an overview.
After the new beta phase started two weeks ago, Apple has now released the second beta of iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2 and Co. publishedBelow we will take a look at the new features that Apple has added.
What's new in iOS 16.2 Beta 2?
- First of all, iOS 16.2 includes major new features for Conditional Assistance with an all-new custom Conditional Assistance mode. This new interface isn’t live yet but it’s all there under the hood – more about it here.
- iOS 16.2 Beta 2 adds a new Medicine widget for your iPhone's lock screen, available in two different sizes. It joins the new Sleep widget added in the first iOS 16.2 beta release.
- There is a new “Updates more frequently” switch for live activities.
- 5G is now available for the first time to iPhone users in India on JIo and Airtel networks. Apple had already announced this feature last week.
- There are new play/pause and skip forward/back animations in the Music app.
- With iPadOS 16.2 Beta 2, you can now disable the recent apps bar and dock for the iPad screen and the external display separately.
- Apple has fixed a bug that previously prevented you from swiping back from the camera on your iPhone's lock screen.
