At the end of December we discussed reportedhow to replace the earpieces of the AirPods Pro if they are broken or lost. Now Apple seems to have made a change.
Due to their in-ear design, the AirPods Pro have so-called ear tips made of silicone. If these are broken or lost, they can be purchased from Apple. This costs around 3.50 euros per pair. But now there are reports that Apple will replace them free of charge if the user has taken out AppleCare+ for the AirPods Pro. This is reported by the US blog MacRumorsIt doesn't matter whether they are reordered online or locally. Users report that they didn't have to pay any additional costs in the end. It remains unclear how often Apple carries out these free exchanges under AppleCare+ - the company has not yet commented on this.
This is how much it costs to repair the AirPods Pro
Repairing or replacing AirPods Pro can be expensive. But with AppleCare+, the whole thing is only half as bad. The cover for Apple's latest earbuds costs around 39 euros and saves users a lot of money. Within the warranty period, users have to pay around 55 euros per earbud for a repair without AppleCare+ - the price outside the warranty period is a whopping 99 euros. The same prices apply for the wireless charging case. If one of the AirPods or the charging case is lost, 99 euros and 109 euros are charged respectively. If the user has opted for AppleCare+ cover, they only have to pay 29 euros. It does not matter whether the earbuds or the charging case need to be repaired or replaced because they have been lost.
