The AirPods Max were released almost two years ago. While these headphones have been praised for their build quality, excellent sound quality and overall usability, there have also been some complaints. For example, the case has been controversial due to its design and the AirPods Max do not offer lossless functionality even when used with a cable. But now there are new complaints regarding the active noise cancellation.
The active noise cancellation (ANC) has been particularly praised so far. But since Apple recently released a firmware update, complaints have been increasing. Apple released firmware update 4E71 for the AirPods Max in May. Even then, there were reports that the ANC feature had deteriorated. When the update was made available, a Reddit thread first pointed out the problem with a dozen comments, which a few months later led to a report by The Verge Previously, there was an issue with the battery display being correct. A degraded ANC function is completely new. Personally, I use my AirPods Max almost every day and haven't noticed any of this. Be that as it may.
AirPods Max: Will Apple fix the problem?
Currently, it doesn't look like there is a way to improve the ANC on the AirPods Max. Those affected could of course reset the headphones and re-pair them. But this probably won't improve things. The good thing, however, is that Apple has been releasing a new firmware update for AirPods Max users for a few months now. testsIt is known that the headphones will be equipped with the new LC3 codec to improve the audio quality during phone calls, but it is not clear whether Apple is actively working on improving the Active Noise Cancelling function. If the company is aware of the problem, it can be assumed that this error will also be eliminated via a future firmware update. (Image: Apple)
