Apple released a new firmware update for the AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro this evening.
Apple has surprisingly updated the AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro. The exact changes are not known, however. When an update is rolled out for the popular earbuds, it usually contains bug fixes and performance improvements. The latest firmware version for both models is 2C54. (Previous versions: AirPods 2 - 2A364 / AirPods Pro - 2B588)
The update is automatic
The AirPods update usually happens automatically as soon as the AirPods are connected to a device and in use - so the update cannot really be forced. But you can check the firmware version at any time. To do this, connect the AirPods to your iPhone or iPad and then open the iOS settings. Now navigate to "General" and tap on "About". Then select your AirPods further down. Now you can see data such as model number, serial number and firmware version. You don't have AirPods yet? To Apfelpatient Amazon Shop.
