Apple today released a new firmware update with version number 3E751 for the second generation and Pro AirPods, an update from the previous firmware 3A283, which was released back in September.
The new firmware – 3E751 – replaces the previous version 3A283. Apple doesn't share details about what's included in new firmware updates, so we don't know what bug fixes or improvements the new update might offer.
How to check the firmware version of your AirPods
If you want to know the current firmware version of your AirPods, all you have to do is connect the headphones to your iPhone and open the “General” section in the iOS settings. You can select the AirPods under “Info”. The AirPods update usually takes place automatically as soon as the AirPods are connected to a device and in use. However, this process can be delayed. In some cases, however, the update can also be forced immediately. To do this, connect the AirPods to a power source and pair them with an iPhone or iPad. The update could then start immediately. However, there is no guarantee that this will happen. AirPods firmware updates often contain performance improvements, bug fixes and function adjustments. If interesting changes appear, we will report on them as usual. Do you want new headphones?
