Apple today released the new firmware update 4E71 for the AirPods 2, AirPods Max and AirPods Pro. The previous firmware 4C165 was released in December.
Apple doesn't share information about what's included in the updated firmware updates for the AirPods, so we don't know what improvements or bug fixes the new firmware brings unless Apple publishes documentation about it, which can sometimes happen.
How to check the firmware version of your AirPods
If you want to know the current firmware version of your AirPods, all you have to do is connect the headphones to your iPhone and open the “General” section in the iOS settings. You can select the AirPods under “Info”. The earphones are usually updated automatically as soon as they are connected to a device and in use. However, the process can be delayed. In some cases, however, the update can also be forced immediately. To do this, connect the AirPods to a power source and pair them with an iPhone or iPad. The update could then start immediately. However, there is no guarantee. Do you want new headphones? Then take a look at our Amazon Storefront over – there we have all current AirPods models summarized for you.
