Some iOS users report that after syncing an iPhone or iPad with an M1 Mac, various iOS apps crash.
Admittedly, the problem sounds a bit strange. But the number of reports is increasing. As soon as an iPhone or iPad has been synchronized with an M1 Mac, users can no longer open third-party applications on the respective iOS device - at least in many cases. This means that when you try to run an app, it crashes immediately. Interestingly, the problem seems to have been present for some time. The first reports were documented in December 2020. Meanwhile, complaints in Apple's Support Forum as well as on Reddit.
M1 Mac: iOS apps crash – there seems to be no solution
According to the description, iPhone or iPad devices were synchronized with an M1 Mac via the Finder. Installed apps can then no longer be used. But that's not all. The error also seems to prevent the app update mechanism and the installation of new applications. According to reports, the whole thing seems to have been present since iOS 14.3 and macOS Big Sur 11.1. There doesn't seem to be a solution to the problem at the moment. Accordingly, users who have an M1 Mac should refrain from synchronizing with iOS devices for the time being. It is not known whether Apple has already discovered the problem. However, it can be assumed that the company will fix the error in a future software update. (Photo by Denys Prykhodov / Bigstockphoto)
