Apple's new 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2 chip can be pre-ordered now and will ship the following week.
Customers can now pre-order the new MacBook Pro from Apple and Apple Authorized Resellers. Apple is promoting the device as follows:
With the new M2 chip, the 13" MacBook Pro delivers more power than ever before. The same compact design comes with up to 20 hours of battery life and an active cooling system for continuous peak performance. A brilliant Retina display, a FaceTime HD camera, and studio-quality microphones make it our most portable pro laptop.
Compared to the previous generation MacBook Pro, the new model features an M2 chip with an 8-core CPU and a next-generation 10-core GPU. It also supports up to 24GB of memory. The 13-inch MacBook Pro also features ProRes encoding and decoding for users working with Apple's video standard.

Battery life has also been improved, with the model lasting up to 20 hours on a single charge - longer than any other portable Apple notebook. Aside from these features, the 13-inch MacBook Pro remains unchanged from the previous model. Most of the improvements in the new MacBook Pro come from the M2 chip, which is an incremental update to the M1 chip and increases real-world performance. The MacBook Pro hasn't received any of the major redesigns or new features of the new MacBook Air with M2 chip, which is set to launch later. Apple also says that the new MacBook Pro is made of 100% recycled rare earths in the chassis magnets and 100% recycled tin in the motherboard solder.
