The iPhone 14 release date is getting closer. Four new iPhone 14 models are expected this year, which will probably be launched as early as September. Below we look at the possible dates.
While other product categories are updated in the first half of the year, Apple has now started to regularly announce and release new iPhone models in September. Here is a brief review:
- iPhone 7: September 16, 2016
- iPhone 8: September 22, 2017
- iPhone X: November 3, 2017
- iPhone XS: September 21, 2018
- iPhone 11: September 20, 2019
- iPhone 12: October 23, 2020
- iPhone 13: September 23, 2021
As you can see, the iPhone release schedule has become relatively consistent, but with two major exceptions. The iPhone 12 series was delayed by a month in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The iPhone X was announced in September but not released until November.
iPhone 14: Rumors at a glance
The iPhone 14 lineup is expected to bring camera improvements, a new design for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, and more. For example, the Pro models are expected to get a hole-punch and pill-shaped notch. The front camera is expected to be updated. Apple could also introduce a purple version. There are also rumors of an always-on display. This year, everything points to the iPhone 14 being announced and released in September. This includes the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max. In fact, that's the entire range of new iPhone models we're expecting this year. In the past, Apple has usually held its annual special event to announce new iPhone models on the first or second Tuesday in September.
presentation and market launch
This year that would be September 6th or 13th. Since Labor Day in the US falls on September 5th, September 13th is the most likely date for a keynote this year. Nevertheless, we cannot completely rule out a delay. It has already been reported that Apple is struggling with problems in the supply chain. If an event takes place on September 13th, it can be assumed that either all or some of the models will go on sale on September 23rd. The schedule could shift if Apple experiences further - deeper - problems in the supply chain triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Are you looking for new accessories?
