Many fans are asking themselves whether Apple will be holding an event this spring to present new products. Let's analyze the rumors again.
Apple was originally expected to hold a virtual event in March. All leakers at least held out the prospect of this. However, as it turned out - no Apple event in March. According to reports, Apple deliberately spread the rumor in order to expose moles in the company. more about it here. Be that as it may. Some sources now believe that Apple wants to hold an event in April. But what could the company present at this virtual keynote?
Will new iPad Pro models be released in April?
For weeks, the rumor mill has been dominated by reports about new iPad Pro models. It is expected that the MiniLED backlight will be integrated into the 12.9-inch iPad Pro first, followed by the 11-inch model. Observers also believe that the casing design will be similar to its predecessor. Inside, however, the fifth generation will be significantly upgraded. Apple is expected to use the A14X chip. According to reports, this processor will be on a par with the M1 chip. Interestingly, the new chip was only recently leaked. In addition, Bloomberg has already reported that the new iPad Pro series will be released in April. The report also mentioned that the new iPad Pros will feature Thunderbolt connectivity for the first time - thanks to the new processor. If so, this innovation would open the door for additional accessories, including external displays, storage and more.
Sixth generation iPad mini
In addition to the Pro series, Apple could also refresh the iPad mini. At least that's what various sources suggest. The small tablet was last updated in March 2019 and is in urgent need of an update. In addition to more power, the device could receive a slightly larger display thanks to a narrower frame. In addition, the iPad mini 6 will also rely on Lightning and retain Touch ID.
Is a new Apple TV planned?
Apple last updated the Apple TV in 2017. The Apple TV 4K was presented at that time. While many users are very satisfied with the device, observers are expecting an update due to Apple Arcade. It is reported that Apple is developing a more powerful device in order to be able to offer significantly more demanding games in the future. The focus is therefore on performance. However, the remote control is also to be revised as part of this. However, a presentation in April is not very likely - at least there are no concrete indications of this. However, there is still speculation, so let's take note.
AirTags - Will Apple introduce the new accessory?
AirTags were leaked back in 2019 and have been with us for a long time. The introduction of the small trackers has been promised time and again - but in vain. Based on the latest Hints in the iOS 14.5 beta and reports from reputable sources, the launch could be just around the corner. Accordingly, a presentation this year cannot be ruled out. As a reminder: "AirTags" are coin-sized trackers that users can attach to objects they fear they might misplace or lose. Using the same "Find My" app as when tracking a lost iPhone or iPad, the accessory can be used to track the location of said items that do not have built-in tracking capabilities.
AirTags - iOS 14.5 paves the way for the accessory
The classic solution could be a pocket. Using a combination of Bluetooth and ultra-wideband technology, the position of the token can be determined in public by other people's iPhones. The encrypted ping is reported back to the owner via the iCloud, who can then use the "Find My" app to help locate it. Under iOS 14.5, the application has a section called "Objects". Both AirTags and third-party devices can be stored in this area. Due to the fact that this section has been added, some now believe that Apple will finally introduce AirTags. At least it increases the chances, right? In addition, there are statements from leakers that promise an imminent presentation. With iOS 14.5 paving the way for the product, an imminent launch is not completely out of the question.
iMac in a brand new design
Last year, Apple announced that it would be upgrading the entire Mac range to Apple Silicon over the next two years. Given this tight timeframe and the breadth of the product range, it seems plausible that Apple will soon update other Mac models. Corresponding references in macOS Big Sur 11.3 at least suggest this. There have been repeated reports of a 24″ iMac with a design reminiscent of Apple's Pro Display XDR. The device could be equipped with the successor to the M1 processor - possibly the M1X or M2 chip? But what else speaks for an imminent presentation? Apple recently announced the iMac Pro and certain configurations of the 21.5-inch iMac set.
iOS 14.5 - When will the final version be released?
Whether Apple will actually present new hardware in April remains largely open. In the end, only Apple can answer this question with certainty. In terms of iOS 14.5, however, things look a little different. The new software update is currently in its fifth beta. According to Apple, the update will be released "early spring". It can therefore be assumed that iOS 14.5 will be released sometime in April. The new features include functional enhancements, more emojis and improved data protection.
Whether Apple will hold an April event this year remains to be seen for the most part. Again, if such an event does take place, we expect it to be completely virtual due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Alternatively, it is also possible that new products will be launched via Press releases will be introduced. Whichever way Apple decides to go - you're guaranteed not to miss it with us.
