Apple TV+ remains on course for success in April. Those looking for challenging series, unusual comedies, or high-quality family entertainment will find plenty to enjoy this month. New releases and sequels cover a variety of genres – from drama and surrealism to environmentally conscious children's series.
The streaming service Apple TV+ continues to focus on quality over quantity. With familiar faces, fresh ideas, and strong productions, the offerings will be meaningfully expanded in April. This month's highlights include a new drama series starring Jon Hamm, a surreal family comedy with David Oyelowo, sequels to popular children's series, and a French historical series. Those who already subscribe to Apple TV+ can look forward to a diverse week. If you're still considering it, here are some good reasons to get started.
Your Friends & Neighbors – Starts: April 11th

In this new drama series, Jon Hamm plays a hedge fund manager who has fallen from grace – both professionally and personally. After a divorce and the loss of his social status, he begins robbing the homes of his wealthy neighbors in the fictional Westmont Village. What initially appears to be a desperate attempt to regain control of his life quickly turns dangerous. Dark secrets, affairs, and intrigue lurk behind the clean-cut facades of suburbia. The series boasts high-quality production, a strong cast, and has already been confirmed for a second season before its official premiere.
Government Cheese – Launch: April 16th

This comedy series is anything but ordinary. Set in 1969 in the San Fernando Valley, Government Cheese revolves around the Chambers family. Hampton Chambers, played by David Oyelowo, returns home after years in prison. But his family has changed. His wife, Astoria, and their two sons, Einstein and Harrison, have built their own, somewhat chaotic lives during his absence. Hampton's return shakes things up. The series combines surrealism with social commentary and humor – setting it apart from other comedy formats.
Jane – Season 3 – Start: April 18

Jane is back – and on the road again to protect endangered species. The series is aimed at children and families and follows nine-year-old Jane, who embarks on an adventure with the help of her imagination and her friends. She is accompanied by the chimpanzee Greybeard and her friend David. The series is based on the ideas of renowned behavioral scientist Jane Goodall and conveys environmental awareness in a child-friendly way. The conservation of nature remains the focus of season 3.
WondLa – Season 2 – Start: April 25

In the second season of WondLa, Eva's journey continues. After escaping from the underground bunker, she continues to explore the new world on the surface – a planet no longer called Earth, but Orbona. The environment is filled with extraterrestrial life. Returning are the giant water bear Otto, with whom Eva can communicate telepathically, the headstrong alien Rovender, and the robot Muthr, who raised her. WondLa remains a mix of science fiction, adventure, and coming-of-age in its second season.
Carême – Start: April 30

Apple TV+ is launching Carême, a French historical drama. It centers on Antonin Carême, considered the world's first celebrity chef. He grows up in poverty and, thanks to his talent, rises to the highest levels of European renown. But his rise does not go unnoticed – politicians try to harness him for political gain. Carême must decide whether to pursue his dream or sacrifice everything: his love, his values, perhaps even his life. The series depicts life in Europe during the Napoleonic era, combining culinary delights with power games and intrigue.
