Apple has had a rather cautious start to 2025 so far. The biggest news was the Black Unity Sport Loop - a rather small announcement for a company that usually makes headlines with big innovations. But spring is just around the corner and there are indications that Apple could soon launch several new products. Five devices in particular are in focus: a redesigned iPhone SE 4, the iPad 11, a MacBook Air with the new M4 chip, the M3 iPad Air and a smart home display. These new products could be released as early as next month and bring with them some interesting innovations.
For years, Apple has relied on a mix of regular updates for existing devices and occasional new product categories. While the company often makes its biggest announcements in the fall, there are also always exciting new developments in the spring. The five devices now expected are not completely new developments, but they bring significant improvements in various areas. Anyone considering buying a new Apple product this year should keep an eye on these developments.
iPhone SE 4 – A big update for the cheapest iPhone
The iPhone SE is likely to get the biggest overhaul since its first model in 2016. So far, the SE series has been characterized by its classic design with a home button, but that is set to change with the iPhone SE 4. A design that is very reminiscent of the iPhone 14 is expected. This means a larger display, thinner bezels and a move away from the home button. It could also be the first iPhone to be equipped with a cellular modem developed by Apple itself. This would further distance the company from Qualcomm. Another detail is the switch to USB-C, a decision that Apple has already made with the current iPhone generations. The naming could also change: rumors say that Apple is considering abandoning the "SE" branding in favor of "iPhone 16E".
iPad 11 – More power for the cheapest Apple tablet
The entry-level model in the iPad range has not been updated for over two years. This spring, the iPad 11 could be released, which is said to be equipped with the powerful A17 Pro chip - the same chip that is already used in the iPad mini. The planned support for Apple Intelligence is particularly important. The company is working hard on new AI functions and the iPad 11 could be one of the first low-cost devices to benefit from this technology. There are many indications that the design will not change significantly compared to the current model. However, there may be minor adjustments, such as new colors or improvements to the camera.
MacBook Air with M4 – An update that comes sooner than expected
The MacBook Air will probably be equipped with the new M4 chip, which offers greater energy efficiency and more performance. Surprisingly, this model could even be released before spring. Otherwise, the design is unlikely to change much. There will be two size variants, 13 and 15 inches, and the case color and general appearance will probably remain unchanged. However, it would be interesting to see the integration of the Center Stage camera, which is available in the latest MacBook Pro models. It remains to be seen whether Apple will also bring this feature to the MacBook Air.
M3 iPad Air – A small but useful upgrade
The iPad Air will also receive an update, but the biggest difference will probably be in the processor. Instead of the current M2 chip, the new model will be equipped with an M3 chip, which will provide even better performance. Apple could also introduce a revised Magic Keyboard specifically for the iPad Air. This would position the device even more strongly as a laptop replacement. Major design changes are not to be expected, but here too there could be minor adjustments to the colors or materials.

Smart Home Display – Apple's first display for the smart home
A completely new product is the Smart Home Display. Apple has been working on its own solution for the smart home sector for some time and the new display could appear as early as next month. A 7-inch screen is expected that can be mounted on the wall or combined with speakers. This should enable central control for HomeKit and other smart devices in the home. The integration of Apple Intelligence is particularly exciting. This means that the display will probably offer improved voice control and possibly even new AI functions.
Other planned Apple products
In addition to these five major products, there are a few other innovations that may be introduced in the coming months. A new AirTag model could be released, although few details have leaked out so far. It will probably get an improved ultra-wideband chipset that will enable even more precise location tracking. Updates are also planned for the Mac Studio and Mac Pro, but not until the second half of 2025. These devices are particularly interesting for professional users who rely on high processing power. Another important update is iOS 18.4, which is scheduled to be released in the spring. This version will include the first Apple Intelligence features, including a revised version of Siri.

Apple innovations on the way: What we can expect in the coming weeks
Apple could introduce a whole range of new products in the next few weeks. While some of them are more about smaller hardware updates, the iPhone SE 4 in particular brings a big change. Anyone interested in a new Apple device should therefore stay alert. There is likely to be a lot happening in the coming months, especially in the area of AI-supported functions - also in Germany!
