The News hit like a bomb. Mario Kart Tour will be available for iOS and Android from September 25th. But is your iPhone even compatible with Nintendo's latest classic for mobile devices?
Fans around the world are excited about Nintendo's latest announcement. Mario Kart Tour is supposed to be a completely new Mario Kart game and take the user on a trip around the world. How is that supposed to work? It's simple: some of the tracks in Mario Kart Tour are based on real race tracks. In addition to the brand new and exclusive race tracks, we will of course also see familiar tracks from the console version - for some, these may not only bring back positive memories. Another special thing about Mario Kart Tour is that not all race tracks will be available all the time. This means that they will be updated every two weeks - one more reason to play the title regularly.
What are the system requirements for Mario Kart Tour?
In addition to Mario, there will also be Peach, Bowser and other well-known characters. The player must unlock these as the game progresses. Mario Kart Tour will start on September 25th and will be free - but there will still be in-app purchases. The game is based on a stamina system (unfortunately) - if the energy runs out, the player has to wait a certain amount of time before he can drive again. This process can be accelerated with in-app purchases.
To play Mario Kart Tour you need at least iOS 10 or higher. This means that all iPhone models up to the iPhone 5S are compatible with Nintendo's new title. iPad users must have at least an iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad Pro or iPad 5th generation or newer to be able to start the racing experience.
