Apple today announced a price update in the App Store via a press release. This affects Thailand and Pakistan.
Apple has announced a change in prices in the App Store on its own developer website. The company explains:
When taxes or exchange rates change, we sometimes need to update prices on the App Store. Over the next few days, prices for apps on the App Store and for in-app purchases (excluding auto-renewable subscriptions) will change in the following countries.
– Thailand
– Pakistan
While prices for apps and in-app purchases are being reduced in Thailand, Apple has to increase prices for the Pakistani App Store due to exchange rate fluctuations. In the announcement, Apple also notes:
Additionally, a 7% Goods and Services Tax (GST) was introduced in Singapore on January 1, 2020. Developers based in Singapore who provide their GST number on App Store Connect will not be affected by the revenue. Otherwise, the revenue will be adjusted accordingly. Prices on the App Store will not change as a result of the introduction of this tax. (Photo by Sushiman / Bigstockphoto)
