IKEA promised HomeKit integration for its “Fyrtur” and “Kadrilj” blinds some time ago – now the update has been delayed again.
HomeKit integration for the "Fyrtur" and "Kadrilj" blinds has already been promised several times. There were also a few launch dates, all of which have been postponed so far. Most recently, the long-awaited update was announced for early 2020 - but that doesn't seem to be working out either. While the update has already been released in the USA, Europeans will have to continue to be patient. The reason for the renewed delay is technical problems. British IKEA support announced the following via Twitter:
Hi, due to some technical issues with the last update released in the US, we have had to delay the release of this update within the EU until these issues are resolved. We don't have a date for this at the moment, but our team is working on it. Thanks, Jamie
It remains to be seen how much time IKEA actually needs. The intelligent blinds can also be integrated into HomeKit scenes and automations. For example, they can be opened and closed automatically every day at sunrise and sunset. (Photo by huettenhoelscher / Bigstockphoto)
