Users of the popular web browser Mozilla Firefox are urgently advised to update. The reason is a vulnerability that is already being exploited by attackers.
On the Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory website A nasty security flaw was described as extremely “critical“. According to this, the popular browser is already being attacked by cyber criminals. But there is an update available for all users - the update is therefore strongly recommended. The website states:
Incorrect alias information in the IonMonkey JIT compiler for setting array elements could lead to type confusion. We are aware of targeted attacks that abuse this bug.
The vulnerability allows attackers to execute malicious code and, at best, take over the computer without user interaction.
The vulnerability can be exploited to execute attacker code and install software without requiring any user interaction beyond normal browsing.
At the same time, updates have already been made available to close this gap. Therefore, updating to versions Firefox 72.0.1 or Firefox ESR 68.4.1 is strongly recommended. (Photo by Rafael Henrique / Bigstockphoto)
