Sony introduced new TVs with HomeKit and AirPlay 2 support at this year's Consumer Electronic Show 2020.
Sony has officially announced the upcoming launch of several 4K and 8K TVs. The following models will be released: Z8H 8K LED, A8H and MASTER Series A9S OLED, X950H and X900H 4K LED TVs. Mike Fasulo, President and Chief Operating Officer of Sony Electronics North America, writes:
Delivering a personalized, immersive and lifelike viewing experience is at the core of our next generation of TVs. This range offers incredible new features to enhance the customer experience and further deliver on designer intent in 4K and 8K resolution.
All new TVs offer support for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. Thanks to the integration of AirPlay 2, the new TVs can interact with other products such as the Apple HomePod or other AirPlay 2-enabled speakers. The TVs are listed in the Home app and can be controlled with Siri voice commands. It continues:
This range also introduces Ambient Optimization, a new technology that optimises picture and sound quality in any customer environment. To bring this new concept to life, Acoustic Auto Calibration detects where the customer is viewing their TV from during initial setup and calibrates the sound quality based on the environment. This new feature brings the TV's full sound potential to any environment.
