Apple made a second version of watchOS 5.3.2 available for download this evening – this is only available to Apple Watch Series 4 users.
Apple has somewhat surprisingly released a second version of watchOS 5.3.2 for Apple Watch Series 4 users. The update (16U611) was originally released on September 26th. The second version of the update is a special security update that is intended to close a gap. Only Apple Watch Series 4 owners who have an iPhone without iOS 13 can access it. The update is also intended to ensure that users can use their Apple Watch Series 4 without restrictions with an old iPhone that is not compatible with iOS 13 - i.e. iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. As is well known, the new watchOS 6 requires an iPhone with iOS 13 or higher.
The update also includes performance and bug fixes as well as maintaining compatibility. Furthermore, watchOS 5.3.2 now closes a security vulnerability that allowed attackers to send malicious code. This would have enabled data theft and caused applications to crash. (Photo by Wrightstudio / Bigstockphoto)
