Apple released the final versions of iOS 13 and watchOS 6 While iOS 13.1 and iPadOS were supposed to be released for all users on September 30th, Apple has now changed the plan at short notice.
Apple will release iOS 13.1 and iPadOS for all users on September 24th The new iOS 13 offers a wide range of new features - but some functions will only appear later. We still don't know why Apple announced a release date for a point update of iOS in advance - and we will probably never find out what drove Apple to do this in general - initially the confusing beta phase.
Automations in Shortcuts – In iOS 13.1, the “Automation” section will be found in Shortcuts. Fans of shortcuts can look forward to a lot of new options. For example, if the iPhone is connected to CarPlay, the Podcast app will start automatically afterwards – if the user wants it to. The feature was originally supposed to appear with iOS 13 – but now it will be delayed a little.
Visual optimizations – Apple has made some improvements to the dynamic wallpapers. The overall look and color have been changed. In addition, all dynamic wallpapers that were previously only available on the iPhone X or newer are now also available for older devices.
Maps – Starting with iOS 13.1, Maps offers a built-in feature that allows you to share your estimated time of arrival with family or friends.
volume control – The redesigned volume control gets another feature in iOS 13.1. As soon as a user presses the control on the iPhone while AirPods are connected to the device, an AirPods symbol now appears in the display.
writings – iOS 13 has a feature that allows you to download and install fonts from the App Store. The feature will be finally available in iOS 13.1.
HomeKit – With iOS 13.1, the icons of HomeKit devices in the Home app will be displayed in more detail in the future.
In addition to the changes mentioned above, other smaller optimizations will of course be made - if there are any major changes, we will of course report on them. iOS 13.1 and the new iPad operating system iPadOS are due to be released together for all users on September 24th.
