In less than two weeks, Apple will most likely introduce three new iPhone models. Some of the features have already been revealed in advance through various rumors and leaks. But many fans are asking themselves one question - how much will the new Apple smartphones cost?
One of the biggest innovations this year is a comprehensive camera update. The two top iPhone 11 models are expected to come with a triple camera, while the cheaper entry-level model will have a dual camera for the first time. In addition, all three devices are expected to be equipped with a larger battery, as the new iPhone generation supports bilateral wireless charging. This means that users can charge their accessories such as the new AirPods on the back of the iPhone 11 and Co. It is also expected that the 2019 iPhone models will be delivered without 3D Touch. A new Taptic Engine is expected to be used here. But how much will the devices cost? By eliminating 3D Touch, Apple is said to have managed to reduce general production costs. There is also a concrete figure. According to Forbes, a report by JP Morgan found that Apple was able to reduce manufacturing costs by around 12 percent compared to the previous year. However, the savings are not only due to 3D Touch. But could this mean that the new iPhone 11 generation will be cheaper this year? No, probably not. According to the Forbes report, the production savings will most likely be used to absorb the punitive tariffs in the ongoing trade war between China and the United States. However, this only applies to the US business - not to other markets.
Analysts warn
According to JP Morgan, no price cuts are planned for other regions, so Apple will continue to benefit from reduced production costs overall. Analysts believe that the prices of the new iPhone generation will 2018 models This would mean that we can expect a starting price of 849 euros for the iPhone 11. The two Pro models should be available from 1,149 euros and 1,249 euros. The price comparison site Idealo.de also came to this conclusion in its own analysis. The comparison portal has made a price forecast for the iPhone 11 models based on the last two iPhone generations. After just two months, these could cost around ten percent less - after about half a year, a full 20 percent is realistic. A detailed list of the Idealo.de forecast can be found here. It remains to be seen whether the new smartphone generation from Apple will be successful. Analysts are already warning of poor sales figures - the reason for this is said to be the lack of innovations.
