The iPhone 16e comes in two colors: black and white. The case is made of robust aluminum, the back is made of tempered glass. The front is reinforced with Ceramic Shield, which Apple says is harder than any other smartphone glass. The device is IP68 certified, meaning it is dust and water resistant. The display is a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR panel with OLED technology. It offers high contrast, strong colors and is well suited for HDR content. The edge-to-edge design makes optimal use of the space on the screen.
processor and performance
Inside the iPhone 16e is the A18 chip, which combines high performance with energy efficiency. According to Apple, the 6-core CPU is up to 80 percent faster than the A13 Bionic in the iPhone 11. The new 4-core graphics processor ensures smooth animations and enables demanding games with ray tracing for realistic lighting effects. In addition, the iPhone 16e is equipped with the Apple C1 modem. It is the first cellular modem developed by Apple and ensures better 5G connectivity while consuming less energy. The 16-core Neural Engine is optimized for machine learning and can execute AI-supported functions up to six times faster than previous iPhones with the A13 chip.
Apple Intelligence and AI features
The iPhone 16e is designed with Apple Intelligence. This AI technology enables, among other things, the automatic removal of distracting objects from images and improved image searches using voice input. Siri has been further developed and can now respond to previous requests in a context-related manner. ChatGPT is also seamlessly integrated into the system so that you can access it directly without having to switch between apps. It is used anonymously because Apple does not save or forward requests. Apple Intelligence also provides new functions in word processing. In the Photos app, you can search for images using natural language. The AI also helps with organizing messages and documents.

The iPhone 16e is equipped with a 48-megapixel main camera. Thanks to Fusion technology, it can capture high-resolution images while enhancing details in dark areas. There is a built-in 2x telephoto lens that provides lossless optical zoom. This allows you to take photos with high detail without compromising image quality. The TrueDepth front camera offers autofocus for sharper selfies. HDR technology ensures natural skin tones and better color reproduction. Videos are recorded in 4K with Dolby Vision. The new wind noise cancellation automatically reduces noise and ensures clearer sound recordings. Spatial Audio makes it possible to record videos with immersive surround sound.
battery life and charging options
Apple promises the best battery life ever for a 6.1-inch iPhone. The iPhone 16e lasts up to six hours longer than the iPhone 11 and up to twelve hours longer than the iPhone SE. The device is charged either via USB-C or wirelessly. Fast charging ensures that the battery is ready for use again in a short time.
emergency functions and satellite communications
The iPhone 16e offers various safety features. Thanks to satellite communication, you can send messages even when there is no cellular network available. These include Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance and Find My via satellite. Accident detection automatically detects serious car accidents and can call emergency services if the user is no longer able to react.
iOS 18 and new features
With iOS 18, the iPhone 16e is even more customizable. The home screen can be designed more flexibly, apps can be arranged freely and have a new dark look. The control center has been redesigned and now allows faster access to frequently used functions. Messages now support RCS, making group chats with Android users more stable and reliable. Users can also schedule messages for later sending. Additional data protection features make it possible to lock or hide apps to protect sensitive content.
Environmentally friendly design
Apple developed the iPhone 16e with a focus on sustainability. It is made of over 30 percent recycled material. The battery contains 100 percent recycled cobalt, the casing 85 percent recycled aluminum. The packaging is completely plastic-free. Apple aims to make all products carbon-neutral by 2030.

The iPhone 16e is available in three storage variants: 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. Prices start at 699 euros or 29.12 euros per month with financing over 24 months.
