Apple has once again withdrawn a beta version of its software, this time affecting the third beta of watchOS 11.1. This is the third update in a short period of time that is not being distributed due to serious errors. This affects users whose Apple Watch becomes unusable after installing the update.
After Apple had to withdraw updates for iPadOS and the HomePod in recent weeks, the third beta of watchOS 11.1 is now affected. Several users reported in forums and on social media that their Apple Watch crashes after installation and no longer responds. The problem is that the watch starts normally but after a few minutes or even seconds no longer accepts any input and the screen freezes. It is also reported that the synchronization of iMessage messages between iPhone and Apple Watch no longer works reliably.
No easy solution for those affected
A particular problem with the Apple Watch is that users cannot simply switch back to an older version of the software. To get the device working again, those affected must either visit an Apple Store or send the watch to a repair center. Resetting to factory settings has so far been unsuccessful.
Another setback for Apple: Problems with watchOS 11.1 Beta 3
The withdrawal of watchOS 11.1 Beta 3 is the third incident of this kind within a short period of time. Apple users must be patient until a bug-free version is made available and hope that the next beta fixes these problems. Those who are currently affected unfortunately do not have a simple solution at hand and may have to contact Apple Support. (Photo by hadrian / Bigstockphoto)
