The power button in Control Center has also been redesigned. It now feels more distinct and is only activated by pressing rather than tapping. This change reduces the chance of the power button being activated accidentally.
Changes to the EU app ecosystem
There are other important changes for users in the European Union. The iPadOS 18 beta now supports alternative app marketplaces and downloading apps from websites. These adjustments are due to requirements from the European Commission and were already introduced with iOS 17.4 for the iPhone.
