Amazon Music Unlimited is a music streaming service from the mail order company Amazon and is available in a slimmed down version to all Prime members. Now Alexa-enabled devices should also benefit from it.
It was already hinted at at the beginning of the week - Amazon is planning a new offer exclusively for all users of Alexa-enabled devices. Amazon is trying to attract customers in the United States who have not yet signed up for Amazon Prime or Amazon Music Unlimited. They will get access to a selection of tracks on their Echo series or other Alexa-enabled devices.
German launch unknown
The free service is funded by ads that play between songs. Unlike the full version of Amazon Music Unlimited or the version offered under Prime, users can only select one station and cannot create their own custom playlist. But they still have thousands of stations to choose from. Sample stations provided by Amazon include Fuego Latino, Pop Culture, Country Heat, 80s Music, Country and Band-Inspired Stations. The playlists are the same as for regular users around the world - but with occasional ad breaks. When the service will roll out in other parts of the world remains unknown for now.
