Apple continues beta testing for the new iOS 17.2 update. The third beta includes exciting new features as well as improvements to existing ones. We are still in the early stages of beta testing, which means there are still new discoveries to be made. In this article, we will take a look at some of the most interesting new features in iOS 17.2 Beta 3.
One of the most notable changes is in the Music section of the Settings app. There's now an option to add songs to your music library when you favorite them. This feature is enabled by default, but you can turn it off if you want. The option to favorite songs was introduced in iOS 17.1, but it's been further improved and optimized in iOS 17.2 beta 3. Now you can manage and access your favorite songs even more easily.
Keyboard
Another useful change concerns the keyboard. Apple has added an option to disable inline suggestions while typing. This can be especially useful if you don't want to be distracted by the suggestions. To enable this option, simply open the Settings app, select the General section and go to Keyboard. There you will find the option to "Show suggestions inline" which you can customize to your liking.
phone and FaceTime
In the phone and FaceTime settings, there's a "Share names and photos" option that uses the Contact Poster. Here you can choose how you want to share your contact information. You can turn it off, limit it to "Contacts only," or ask each time you share. This setting was previously only available for the Messages app, but now you can adjust it in the general phone and FaceTime settings.
FaceTime
Another important change concerns FaceTime. When you join a FaceTime call and a contact you blocked is also present, you will now receive an alert. This helps identify and avoid unwanted calls and contacts. Apple has taken care of your privacy here and ensures that you always have control over who you communicate with.
photos
When you open the Photos app after updating to iOS 17.2 beta 3, you'll be prompted to allow Photos to access your Apple Music library. This will allow Photos to use Apple Music to curate songs for your memories, creating an even more personalized experience. It's worth noting that Photos has been able to access Apple Music in the past, but now Apple is offering an option to disable access if you prefer.
