Excitement is growing around Apple's upcoming iPhone 15 event in September. But the curtain may not rise until October for the long-awaited M3 Macs.
Every year, rumors about Apple's September event surface. But the exact product lineup often remains under wraps until shortly before the event. The latest information from Mark Gurman provides clues about possible announcements in September and October, including the M3 Macs. Mark Gurman of Bloomberg indicates announced that the September event will be structured similarly to the iPhone 14 launch – a pre-recorded video and a possible presentation at the company headquarters.
M3 Macs: An iMac update is also expected
However, the unveiling of the M3 Macs could take place in October in the form of a press release, similar to what happened with previous models. History shows that Apple hasn't always held October events. The transition from the M2 to the M3 generation will begin in the fall, with the M3 Pro, M3 Max and M3 Ultra models following later. Traditionally, Apple starts shipping the 13-inch MacBook Pro, 13-inch MacBook Air and Mac mini as heralds of a new generation of chips. The 24-inch iMac, on the other hand, is due an upgrade after missing out on the M2 generation. A new 15-inch MacBook Air with M3 chip is less likely, as the M2 model is still fresh on the market.
