With some delay, Apple has now released the final version of macOS Mojave 10.14.4 to all users.
The latest version of the operating system for Macs is now available for download. The update focuses mainly on bug fixes and performance upgrades. It also includes support for Apple's new subscription services and introduces Apple News for the first time in Canada.
Autofill and Dark Mode function expanded
In addition to other optimizations, the Touch ID Autofill function was also introduced. Accordingly, the Autofill feature for Safari can be activated via the settings under Touch ID.
The new function enables forms to be filled out automatically when surfing in Safari. This is done by placing your finger on the Touch ID sensor. The new version is an improvement on the existing autofill function as you no longer need to click in the box. Apple has also expanded the dark mode. This can now be used on websites. The prerequisites for this are, on the one hand, that the websites in question offer such a mode and, on the other hand, that the user has activated it in the system settings. You can find all the new features in iOS 12.2 here.
The build numbers of the current versions are:
Xcode 10.2 (10E125)
iOS 12.2 (16E227)
tvOS 12.2 (16L226)
macOS Mojave 10.14.4 (18E226)
