Display production is expected to ramp up for the as-yet-unannounced 15-inch MacBook Air, and it could launch in late April or early May.
Display analyst Ross Young from Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) tweeted on Monday to paying subscribers about the 15-inch MacBook Air. Young has previously shared rumors about the device. In response to a comment, Young said panel production for the larger MacBook Air began in February and increased in March. Apple is reportedly planning another production increase in April, so the device could launch in late April or early May. Young is relatively accurate when it comes to Apple's leaks and rumors and has previously suggested a spring 2023 launch for the 15-inch MacBook Air.
15-inch MacBook Air: Some rumors are contradictory
If the rumors are true, the display will be 15.5 inches, placing it between the 14-inch MacBook Pro and the 16-inch MacBook Pro. It will likely have the same design as the M2 MacBook Air, while rumors about the chip are contradictory. According to some reports, it could be an M3 processor, which would be the latest member of the Apple Silicon line for Macs. The timing of the launch is also questionable. It may be too late for a product launch in spring, unless Apple announces the new MacBook Air in a press release rather than at a keynote. (Image: Apple)
