Bad Bunny, previously named Apple Music Up Next Artist, is now Artist of the Year for creating what Apple calls the greatest Latin album of all time.
Apple has been naming an artist of the year since 2019. Previous winners include The Weeknd and Billie Eilish. In recent years, Apple has honored several musicians in categories such as Global Artist of the Year and Breakthrough Artist. For 2022, Apple has decided to honor only Bad Bunny. Oliver Schusser, Apple's Vice President of Apple Music and Beats, explained:
We are thrilled to celebrate the achievements of Bad Bunny, whose influence on every corner of culture cannot be ignored in 2022. Seeing Bad Bunny rise from an Apple Music Up Next artist in 2018 to our Artist of the Year has been nothing short of extraordinary. We congratulate him on his record-breaking year and as he continues to bring Latin music to a massive global audience.
Apple Music highlights Bad Bunny
Apple Music has a new page for Bad Bunny furnished, which tells the story of his rise to the most streamed album of 2022.

The page also includes a new video about the artist, available in the Apple Music app and online. In the video, Bad Bunny explains:
When I started, I didn't have a global following. I'm grateful for everything I've achieved and everything I've experienced. The Latin music movement has grown so much, I would never take all the credit or say, "This is my achievement." No, it's up to each of us. A whole generation. Our energy and presence is always felt. Thank you to Apple Music and to all the people who listen to my music every day. I'm super happy!
