PayPal has announced that it will introduce new Apple-tailored payment options for US users of PayPal and Venmo.
The announcement was made as part of the publication of its third-quarter 2022 business figures. The company is working with Apple to improve its offering for PayPal and Venmo merchants and customers. Soon, the PayPal and Venmo apps will accept contactless debit and credit cards, as well as tap-to-pay transactions with smartphones and smartwatches when paired with an iPhone.
iPhone users benefit: PayPal cooperates with Apple
Starting in 2023, customers will be able to add PayPal and Venmo credit and debit cards to Apple Wallet so they can use them anywhere Apple Pay is accepted. The company also plans to add Apple Pay as a payment option in PayPal's unbranded checkout flows, such as the PayPal Commerce Platform. However, the implementation will initially only take into account the US market, as the Venmo service is only available there. Users in this country will therefore have to be patient. Either PayPal will make the whole thing available worldwide at some point or present another solution with Apple Pay connection for the international market. (Photo by DenPhoto / Bigstockphoto)
