The new M2 iPad Pro supports the second-generation Apple Pencil, a new feature that allows users to hold the Apple Pencil over the display to expand content, apps, widgets, and more.
In the press release, in which the brand new M2 iPad Pro was introduced, Apple explains the new feature as follows:
A new dimension to Apple Pencil. Apple Pencil Hover shows you exactly where your Apple Pencil will land on your display, so you can write, sketch, and illustrate with even greater precision. Watch apps and widgets on your Home screen expand as you hover over them. Preview your mark before you make it. See your watercolors blend before you paint. Apple Pencil Hover makes everything you do with Apple Pencil even more effortless.
M2 iPad Pro: Apple improves the inner values
The new M2 iPad Pro in conjunction with the second-generation Apple Pencil can detect electromagnetic signals sent from the tip of the pencil to the display from a distance of up to 12 mm.
