Apple has given select media representatives and YouTubers access to the new iPhone 14 Plus before the device makes its debut and hits shelves on October 7.
The iPhone 14 Plus is Apple's largest entry-level iPhone with a 6.7-inch display, a display size previously reserved for the top-of-the-line models. The iPhone 14 Plus has many of the same features as the smaller standard iPhone 14 model, which was previously unveiled.
iPhone 14 battery life
Thanks to the display, which doesn't have Pro features like the always-on function, and the larger internal space for the battery, the iPhone 14 Plus has the longest battery life of any non-Pro iPhone. Allison Johnson of The Verge saysthat the iPhone 14 Plus is capable of offering a battery life of several days: in the test, it lasted three days on a single charge.
Apple's claim of "best battery life in an iPhone" is no exaggeration. With moderate use, with about two hours of screen time and plenty of time away from Wi-Fi, I've found the battery only drains by about 25 percent. I even managed to use the device for three days on a single charge. Reader, I can't remember the last time I used an iPhone that lasted multiple days without issues.
display
The iPhone 14 Plus only has a 60Hz display. Loud According to Patrick Holland of CNET, the display is impressively bright and colorful, but the lack of a higher refresh rate is disappointing for a phone in this price range. Holland writes:
A higher refresh rate screen looks more realistic, whether you're playing a game or just scrolling through Twitter. The 14 Plus's screen is locked at 60Hz. I wish Apple had given the 14 Plus a higher refresh rate display, even if it's only 90Hz. And it's odd that only the Pro models have an adaptive refresh rate. The 14 Plus's screen looks good, but the 14 Pro Max's looks better. That's partly because of the refresh rate, but partly because the 14 Pro Max can be a lot brighter. When I tested the 14 Plus, I had no trouble seeing the screen outdoors. But I live in San Francisco, so in a sunnier area that might be more of a challenge.
iPhone 14 Plus cameras

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus have the exact same camera system, so the camera reviews for the iPhone 14 also apply to the iPhone 14 Plus. As you might expect, reviewers think the iPhone 14 Plus handles low-light well, with vibrant colors and good highlights. Allison Johnson of The Verge writes:
That means better low-light performance, especially on the ultrawide and selfie cameras, even if the hardware isn't exactly new or special. You can read a slightly more detailed analysis in my iPhone 14 review. The short version is that it's a very good camera system - not only is the upgrade worth it, it's a nice upgrade if you're coming from an iPhone 11 or older.
Performance
Both the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus use the same chip as last year’s iPhone 13 Pro. Despite this, the iPhone 14 Plus “still feels premium and has more than enough power to handle anything you throw at it,” said Sam Rutherford of EngadgetThe iPhone 14 Plus will be available from October 7th. The device is available in blue, violet, midnight, polar star and (PRODUCT)RED and in 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB storage variants. The price of the device starts at 1,149 euros and can cost up to 1,539 euros depending on the equipment. (Image: Apple)
