Nomad has released a new range of cases for the iPhone 14, which includes the usual leather variants as well as the Sport Cases.
Let's start with the Modern Case & Modern Folio. Nomad has always been known for its leather cases. They use high-quality Horween leather from Chicago and not unknown foreign factories like cheap case manufacturers like to use. The updated iPhone 14 models are no different. Over time, the protective cases develop a wonderful patina that is unique to you. These leather cases have very similar properties to the iPhone 13 versions.
They offer drop protection of up to three meters, an internal shock-absorbing bumper, and MagSafe support. The buttons are the only downside to these luxury cases. They are made of molded TPE like the rest of the bumper. Unfortunately, they feel a bit weird as there is no "click" when you press them.
Nomad Modern Case & Modern Folio: Prices and Colors
The Modern Folio has the same back as the Modern Case, but features a folio to protect the front. The folio has three card slots - ideal for your driver's license, ID card and credit card. There is also a slot for cash, but this can also be used for receipts or similar.

iPhone 14: The Sport Case from Nomad
In addition to the high-quality leather cases, there is of course also the Sport Case. This version was first introduced in 2021 for the iPhone 13 series. At the time, I also wrote a comprehensive hands-on about it - more about it here. The back of the case is made of glossy plastic in black, lunar grey, dune, ash green and navy blue. These are more earthy colours that go well with the rugged leather look of the other products. A TPE bumper goes around the edge and acts as a shock absorber. There are raised edges around the camera bump and the display. One of the nicest features are the anodised aluminium metal buttons for the side button and volume buttons.
Sport Case: Prices and Availability
They are particularly easy to grip as they have direct contact with the buttons underneath the phone. The only problem with these cases is the shiny back. I have already used my iPhone 13 Pro Max in this case for a long time and I have to admit that the back is simply more slippery. However, it resists scratches surprisingly well, which is why I will now equip my iPhone 14 Pro Max with the Sport Case anyway.
