Samsung today announced the launch of its next-generation foldable smartphones, including the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4. The South Korean company has been making foldable devices since 2019, so these new smartphones represent four years of development.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 has a 6.7-inch 120 Hz AMOLED display and folds vertically. When folded, a 1.9-inch AMOLED display shows the time, notifications, and other information at a glance. There is a fingerprint sensor on the side for biometric authentication. Compared to the previous model, the Z Flip 4 offers a slimmer hinge, straighter edges, and a shiny metal frame with a clouded back glass. The Z Flip 4 has a dual camera on the back with a 12-megapixel wide-angle and an ultra-wide-angle camera, as well as a 10-megapixel selfie camera on the front. A built-in "FlexCam" feature enables hands-free videos, group selfies, and more when the Z Flip 4 is partially folded. However, selfies can also be taken from the cover screen.
